Community Centre Chestnut, in Haringey approached our creative Director Jide, with a concept to paint a mural that celebrates the boroughs diversity, for their sustainability and inclusion exhibition in March 2022. In response, Jide designed this character.
The role required him to deliver a full concept, character design for the mural to be painted and hung in the reception area.
Jide managed the concept of the project from ideation, character design, to final delivery, and is now in the middle of painting the mural, based on the full character sheet below.
The result was that Production Studio Uplands TVs saw the digital mural design and decided this character has the right look for a TV show they are developing, and approached Jide with a script written by Leon Mayne with, for a new TV series called Maya. It was a successful pitch and the major network loved the visuals. The Uplands TV team are now tweaking the script for Netflix and have a strong starting point to begin the production of the pilot once the updated script is ready.
