Marketing in a Socially Connected World

Marketing in a Socially Connected World

On the 19th August 2015 Aniboxx had the pleasure of speaking at Launch22’s ‘Marketing in a Socially Connected World’ event. Aniboxx spoke alongside two excellent guest speakers Jude Brooks and Kelly Angood, who shared some words of wisdom on marketing and crowdfunding. If you missed the event don’t worry we’ve got you!

We’ve summarised some key things you should know.

Jude Brooks:

Jude is a freelance marketing consultant, coach and trainer. She has over 15 years of digital marketing experience for brands such as, Coca-Cola, Tesco and Capital Radio. A key point we picked up from Jude’s insightful talk, was the importance of purpose. There are different types of purpose a brand could have such as; elicit joy, enable connection, evoke pride, inspire exploration, impact society and more. However, no matter what the purpose is, it is encouraged to make sure it’s at the heart of what you do. “Put purpose at the heart. What you do is more important than what you say” – Jude Brooks.

Kelly Angood:

Kelly dropped some crowdfunding wisdom on us and showed everyone some amazing examples of successful campaigns carried out on Indiegogo. She left us with these ten tips for crowdfunding success;

  • Prepare a well designed campaign
  • Have a compelling, short pitch video
  • Build a social media strategy
  • Prep for PR
  • Build an email list
  • Launch with momentum
  • Update regularly
  • Be responsive
  • Add perks

Jide Johnson:

Jide is the founder and managing director of Aniboxx. Aniboxx specialises in producing explainer, viral and crowdfunding videos. Jide spoke about producing a successful crowdfunding video, which was a great follow up after Kelly’s informative talk on crowdfunding campaigns. He broke down the structure a crowdfunding video should follow, which was;

0:00 – 0:15 – Addressing the audience

0:16 – 2:15 – Explain the project

2:16 – 2:30 – Call to action

Jide also showcased the Desolenator casestudy, which followed this same structure and had remarkable results.
