Communicating value and driving action

Import.io: Explainer Video Casestudy

The savvy data team down at Import.io asked us to help them explain the value of data literacy to their audience.

More often than not, it’s hard explaining new technologies and ideas to a target audience. Impot.io wanted show businesses, individuals, developers and coders, just how useful their app is for building entirely new data sets and applications.

The Challenge

To engage visitors on the Import.io website, show them how useful the platform would be to them and persuade them to use it.  Resulting in increased conversions from visitors to the site, to actual users of the platform.

Grab attention

In order to get potential users of the app to understand the value of the platform, we had to hold their attention once they were on the website. To do this, we created characters that stood out and used these throughout the video to maintain their engagement.

Clear communication

Once we had the audiences attention, we went on to explain the benefits and features of the platform. Our focus was to keep the message brief, to the point, whilst using a fun tone to keep it captivating. This was all achieved in less than 2 minutes!

Drive action

We ended the video with a clear call to action. Followed by links to the page for signing up and connecting on social networks to find out more.

Results

The video had a great response at presentations made between Silicon Valley and Silicon Roundabout in London. It greatly improved the audiences understanding of the platforms benefits and how it works.

Import.io have gone on to receive various rounds of funding (£2M+) since launching our video.
