Chestnuts Community Centre approached our Creative Director, Jide Johnson, to create a mural for their diversity week coming up soon. Jide designed a character Maya to be painted on a mural by himself in coming weeks
The role required was to deliver a full concept, character design and the “Maya” character, that would represent diverse millennial, young people in the borough of Haringey. Jide managed the project from ideation to final delivery, communications with their producer on the project to develop the identity of the character, produce a poster and a full character sheet to help viewers become familiar with the character. As a result, other community centre leaders in Haringey have asked for Jide to paint a similar mural of an original character, representing the borough, in their community centres. Watch this space.
